Summer Moves Into Fall!
One of my favourite songs when I was younger was Don Henley's 'Boys Of Summer'. Something about the mood and the energy, along with a great lyric that told of the loneliness of deserted streets in a picturesque town after Summer's done, moved me. It inspired me. Every year, at this time, I think of that song. Not in a sad way, but in a way that inspires me again! Inspires me to get moving with all the ideas and thoughts and plans that were set n motion during those awesome, warm Summer days.
So, it's time to move ahead with my Springsteen show! The tribute that isn't a tribute. After a great debut at The Moonshine Cafe I am going to be bringing this celebration of Springsteen's early songwriting to the Simcoe Street Theatre in Collingwood on October 11. Joining me once again will be Matt Horner and Gene Hardy. Please visit and follow the Celebrating Springsteen: Unplugged page on Facebook to see what I'm talking about! This is a show filled with great songs and stories. Not to be missed.
I'm also thrilled to be bringing my trio to Mulligan's Pub for the1st time. I've been to Mulligan's on several occasions to watch Kevin Phillips and The Stew, but this will my first time on the bill. That'll be Sept. 28. On Oct. 9 I'll be taking over the Beacon, performing both the role of host and guest with The Freakin' Band. Always a super night of music, laughter, dance and good vibes. That's The Beacon. That's Wasaga Beach!
Along with these gigs and events, I'll be back at some of my usual spots. Timothy's with The Sunday Sinners on the 2nd Sunday of every month. Dum Dums in Brampton with The Trio, and The Canadiana with THC - The Theodore Horner Combo every Sunday! Check the listings on my home page to get all the info.
See you out there, sometime, somewhere. It can't happen without you!! Peace.
