A Change Is On The Way!
It's hard to believe that 2024 is ending. There seems to have been a lot of changes since the pandemic and with that I find that there is an air of optimism on the local music and club scene. People are coming out in decent numbers again and there has been a buzz that hasn't been around...or so it seems to me!
The biggest news is that I’ve got a new venue in Hamilton starting up in December. The Boiler & Whistle is a room with awesome food and a great vibe that will be starting a live music night on Thursdays. I’ll be kicking things off with James Anthony on Dec. 5 and will be following that up with Matt Horner joining me on Dec. 12. I’ll be in on a regular basis with special guests joining me each week.
My 17th Annual Food Drive is happening at Merk Snack Bar in Hamilton again this year. Once again, I’ll have my right-hand man, Matt Horner, on keys. Special guests for this exciting night include Virgil Scott, Johnny Max, Johnny O, John Johnson and Hank Szpiech. Hopefully, I’ll be adding a few more surprise guests!! Make your reservations and bring a nonperishable food item. All proceeds go to the YWCA Women’s Shelter in Hamilton.
Another big change is that The Sunday Sinners are calling it a day! After 10 years of being a group, the band will be playing their last show on Dec 8 at Timothy’s Pub. This will also be my last Sunday performance at the venue. I’ll be back in 2025 with another group that will perform the occasion Saturday, but our Sunday run is done!
For those of you who have been out to see the Celebrating Springsteen: Unplugged show, we’ll be doing more of those in the new year at select theatres around Southern Ontario. Stay tuned for more info about that and follow the Celebrating Springsteen: Unplugged page on Facebook!
I’ve also got plenty of dates booked in the new year to guest with The James Anthony Trio at The Uptown Social in Burlington. The band is super hot, and the room is jumping. Can’t wait for these shows.
As always, you can catch all the latest upcoming events on my home page. You can also click the, ‘this day in music history’ link to learn some fun facts on what happened on any particular day in music. Check it out.
I hope to see you out there, sometime, somewhere! Peace.
