Who's A Good Groundhog??
Early Spring??? Ok…Ok, I know it’s still early February, but the way things have been going with regards to our weather, it sure does feel like March or April some days! I probably just jinxed it all.
Either way, the music continues through it all. And man, oh man, has it been fun of late.
I just celebrated the 5th Anniversary of Merk Snack Bar n Hamilton. The place was packed from 5pm until closing. My set ran from 5-7 and then DJ Close came in at 8 to keep things hopping. I’m thrilled for my friends at Merk! From owner Mark, to every staff member, these folks have worked their butts off to make this place what it is. And what it is, is an awesome place for good food, great cocktails, and a cool vibe. My monthly solo gig there is a hi-lite for me. 3rd Thursday of the month at 7pm. Check it out, if you can!
Speaking of packed houses, The Canadiana has been crazy fun the past few weeks. Good people come in weekly to share a few laughs and sing some songs. Corny as it may sound, there is a ‘Kumbaya’ thing that happens at Canadiana every Sunday that has me pinching myself. Must be the THC! That’s The Theodore Horner Combo!! Every Sunday, 1-4pm
Coming up, I’ll be reuniting the trio with Charlie Cooley, Matt Horner and myself to perform an early Valentine’s Day love in at Dum Dum’s in Brampton! It’s like THC with some added ‘C’!
We play from 7-10pm on Saturday, Feb. 11.
I’ve also got my monthly residency at Timothy’s Pub with The Sunday Sinners. Matt Horner, Charlie Cooley, Gene Hardy and I make up quartet that plays Classic Soul, R&B and Whatever Else We Feel Like!! It’s the 3rd Sunday of every month from 5-9pm
The Sunday Sinners will also be back at The Irish Shebeen on Friday, Match 3 from 8-midnight. This time with Gary Taylor on the kit.
Lastly, I'll be at The Carrigan Arms on Saturday, Feb. 18, from 3-6pm with the Saturday Matinee Band. Featuring Dave Russell, Matt Horner and Larry Bodnar
Check the website for all the details!
See you out there somewhere, sometime, someplace.
Peace!
